The Marquette Green Energy facility is located at the former KI Sawyer AFB in Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The former steam generating heat plant used by the U.S. Air Force to heat the tarmac and hangars at KI Sawyer, covers approximately 23 acres with over 150,000 sq. ft. of buildings. The site is served by Canadian Northern Railway, plus Class A roads border the entire facility. In 1987 the United States Air Force invested over $20,000,000 in site improvements.
